Latifah is back

Latifah is back in the lab:

The new album, which Latifah told Rolling Stone was “banging,” was crafted with the help of legends LL Cool J and Dr. Dre. The rapper-turned-actress says the two did the majority of the record. “They pretty much did the whole album,” Latifah said. “My boy Kenny Flav did one track and I think might do two more. Missy [Elliott] and Swizz Beatz are the only two people I have left. But they’re mixing it right now.” Dre also helped her write some of the material, as well as Ludacris, but besides that she says she wrote “just about” all the rest.

We know our girl’s film career is on track, but we are excited to see if the Doc can bring her music career back to life when her album drops in December. If Dre’s resume is any indication of what we can expect, we should be in store for some hot sh*t. No, we do not think that the proposed title, “The L Word” has anything to do with her ummm…sexual orientation…and yes, we are trying to keep a straight face (no pun intended).
