Ice Cube Smoking Section

When my alarm clock went off at 2:00 AM to make the drive down for the 10:00 allotted time slot, and granted I had other business in the LA area, there was no hesitation. It’s Ice Cube. I don’t need to justify it by any means.

I can’t remember how many times I asked myself, “where the f*ck am I going?” on route to Ice Cube’s video shoot for “Why Me?” When I say it was in the cut, whatever you might envision, that’s an understatement. Aside from sand, Joshua tress and abandoned diners that offered eggs, bacon, toast and coffee for seventy five cents, there wasn’t much life aside from scrambling video crews and the roar of air conditioned vans where we were at.

The pleasant encouragement to keep the interview under 10 minutes was another task of it’s own. I could have gone on and on, but it was clear nobody in the building other than me wanted that. Like the homie Conceit said, “I’m not bitter at all” and the result…I at least got him to crack a smile at the end. And there you have it.

Scorce 20 years 2 out 4 cover look OK

What the hell is up with the purple lips...does LL know?

Seems Like the Sorce is trying to get everyone on their 20th Aniversary Cover, do you really think it's going to help? Ice Cube and Queen Latifah are the other two artists other than Nas and LL who are featured on The Source’s 20 anniversary edition. Ice Cube has certainly come a long way from those jheri curl juiced NWA days.

Good Thang you didn't mess up Ice Cube like you did to Nas and LL

and at least Queen Latifah looks good

Then once again you go with these hellasious pink lips what the hell you made Nas look like he's wearing lipstick ...

Ice Cube to Prez: “Put ‘em up”

Ice Cubeanswers questions about his new album and calling out George W. Bush in a recent interview with the prestigious King Magazine:

You’re calling the new Lench Mob album Raw Footage. Sounds like a Hollywood sex tape.
I just wanted to do hip-hop for the brain. I’m not really worried about the club and the things that most people are worrying about right now. I’ve always prided myself on making the streets understand the politics of the day and, hopefully, making the politicians understand the streets a little bit.

On “Take a Nation,” you declare yourself “the only rapper who wanna fistfight the president.” Our money is on you.
Of course The hook is, “It takes a nation of niggas to hold us back”—a statement in itself. Forces outside of hip-hop are starting to dictate what’s hot and what’s not. I wanted a record to talk about it: “That’s bullshit, we need to take it back.” We need to dictate what’s hot—not Viacom. I did Lench Mob to be able to do records how I wanted to do them, when I wanted to do them, and to promote them how I want to without nobody having nothing to say.

Another old-skool cat trying ‘reclaim‘ hip-hop? This should be interesting. The album is set to drop on August 18th. Click here to read the entire article.
