Should LL Cool J Give It Up??

The young ladies don’t love cool James like they used to:

LL Cool J and Jessica Simpson make unlikely competitors, but the rapper is said to be furious that Simpson’s album, “Do You Know” outsold his own the week both debuted. According to Nielsen Soundscan, Simpson’s first country album topped the country chart and came in No. 4 overall in the rankings by moving 65,000 units. LL’s “Exit 13” came in at No. 9 with sales of 44,000.

“LL is furious,” says a source close to his label, Def Jam. “He was so angry at one point that he was beaten by Jess that he actually threatened to quit rap.” As it turns out, LL was likely just having a moment. A rep for LL says that “he has no plans to quit now,” and the he’s focusing on celebrating his “sixth consecutive top 10 album in his nearly 25 amazing years in music.”

SMH at Jessica Simpson’s experimental “country” album moving more units than LL’s, but the old guy should be happy….44,000 is not really that bad these days.

Hip-Hop Legend's Jewels Up for Auction

Hip-Hop lovers and fans of rap icons LL Cool J, Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur will get the chance to own a piece of hip-hop history when the music legends' jewels go up for auction next month.

Hip-Hop's Crown Jewels will mark the first time a collection of jewelry owned by rap's biggest legends will be available for bidding, in the auction benefiting Russell Simmons' Rush Community Affairs, the mogul's coalition of non-profit organizations, according to PR-Inside.com

A spokesperson from auction house Phillips de Pury & Company says, "The artists are very tied into these pieces emotionally. That they consigned them over is a big statement." The 50-piece collection also includes sparklers from 50 Cent, Missy Elliott, Sean "Diddy" Combs, Pharrell Williams and Lil' John, whose "Crunk Ain't Dead" necklace holds the Guinness World Record for largest diamond-pendant, weighing in at almost 12 pounds.

The auction gavel is set to drop on October 1.

LL Cool J Vs. Tyrese

Talk about an unorganized event! DrewReports.com was on the scene for Nas Album release party last night and it was pure kaos! Nas did not show up until 1AM and was being a jackass. Several celebs alongside Def Jam label reps were not allowed inside the venue and was left screaming at security about how unorganized this event was! LL Cool J and Fabolous slip up stairs before midnight to an half empty venue. Young Buck was outside in his car for a few minutes and opted not to come in after security was told to turn everybody away. The night was total mess!
