Barackin The Vote 08

We know everyone is giving T.I. a bad time because of his history with the law and the fact that he can't vote, but people please realize the valiant effort to get people involved ...even if he can't vote...check out news article below.

Rapper and convicted felon T.I. wants to make up for his missing vote this November, since the entertainer has lost his right to vote because of his criminal record. Now the Atlanta native is on a mission to get Americans to take advantage of their opportunity to participate in the political process - especially in the historical presidential election this November.

Born Clifford Harris, the 27-year-old rapper will begin a 12 month prison sentence in March 2009 after being convicted on federal weapons possession charges. Such convictions automatically strip Americans of their voting rights.

Speaking in Washington D.C. on Monday, T.I. - a spokesperson for the Respect My Vote campaign - explained, "I can't vote. So I said, 'OK, so if I'm going to have to be minus my own vote then the least I could do was urge the masses.' I can replace my vote with at least a million, two million others."

"This is one of the most significant elections of our lifetime. We must get out there and make our voices heard by voting. It's negligent to sit around and watch an election pass by and not have an influence whatsoever on the outcome. That ain't sexy."
