On the dating show, on VH1, Drayton moves in with a group of potential partners and eliminates one each week before being left with his favorite girl.
But the Public Enemy star - real name William Drayton - is alleged to have proposed to his lover after learning she was pregnant with his child following the end of season two in October 2006 and the start of season three earlier this month.
A source tells the New York Post's gossip column, PageSix, "Right after season two wrapped, Flav got yet another woman pregnant. He decided he was in love with her and they got engaged."
"He never even bothered to call (season two winner) Deelishis after the reunion show. He has a fiance he's in love with and doesn't want to cheat on, but he'd already cashed his check that VH1 gave him for season three - and the show resurrected his career. He was dead broke before, so he's doing it for his family."
However, a representative for the show insists Drayton is single, despite admitting reports has become a father for the eighth time are accurate.
The VH1 spokesperson says: "Flav is not engaged. It's true he's on his eighth child but, as he's said in the past, he'd like 10. So there's two more to go."
The 48-year-old's newest edition to his family was born last year.
